We proudly introduce the reduced Chopin Series of Russian Tsars - a world-class collection that highlights the craft of the esteemed foundry worker and bronze master, Felix Chopin. This series is designed to offer a smaller, budget-friendly addition to any fine art collection or a sophisticated standout piece for personal home décor. Our budget-friendly series is the perfect way to appreciate historical artistry in a smaller, more manageable form.

Felix Chopin, the “Bronze Magician,” served as a French and Russian foundry worker, notably commissioned as a supplier to His Imperial Majesty's Court. An esteemed artist of the 19th century, Chopin’s works hold significant historical and artistic value. Born in 1813 and lived until 1892, Chopin astounded the art world with his impressively precise busts of Russian rulers.

The inspiration behind the Chopin series started in 1840 when Chopin discovered the marble busts of an Italian sculptor, A. Penna. Although Penna never set foot in Russia and his busts exhibited a rough resemblance to their real-life counterparts, they inspired Chopin to initiate his own line of busts. By 1849, Chopin presented a staggering collection of 63 full-sized Russian royal busts at an exhibition.

Proving his adaptability, 15 years later, in 1864, Chopin debuted smaller versions of his royal busts at the international exhibition in Paris. This transition from large grandiose sculptures to more intimate, scaled-down copy, not only enabled Chopin's works to become more accessible, but also increased their popularity, as his smaller works were very much in demand. The Model 1868 showcased in our collection, pays homage to this ingenious scaling transition of Chopin’s art.

Embark on a journey to the past with the reduced Chopin Series of Russian Tsars. This collection marries the nostalgia of historical royalty with the nuance of fine artistry – Suitable for both, ardent history buffs and discerning art enthusiasts.
