Our product is a unique reproduction of a bust crafted by the renowned artist Felix Chopin in 1868, a piece marking a significant milestone in the art history of Russia, and in particular, St. Petersburg. This splendid work of art was produced at the famed F. Chopin factory, as affirmed by the signature ‘F.Chopin’ etched onto the reverse side. Adding to its authenticity, it also bears a historical and engaging round stamp 'M.F. 1867 DEPARTURE FOR 10 YEARS'.

One of the unique facets of this bust is its inscription 'MIKHAIL FEDOROVICH', signifying Mikhail Fedorovich Romanov (1596-1645). Romanov held a momentous place in Russian history as the first Tsar from the esteemed Romanov dynasty. This factor further bolsters the piece's cultural and historical significance, making it a genuinely remarkable collectible for art enthusiasts and historians alike.

The original creator, Felix Chopin (1813-1892), often hailed as the 'Bronze Magician', was a proficient French and Russian foundry worker whose stunning pieces frequently adorned the Court of His Imperial Majesty. Chopin held a particular reverence for meticulously crafting busts of Russian rulers, which makes this replica an extraordinary representation of his proficient craftsmanship. His inspiration was an Italian sculptor, A.Penna, whose marble busts of Russian tsars and princes, though divergent from real-life depictions, lit the spark in Chopin's imagination.

Chopin's affinity for bust craftmanship led him to present 63 full-sized busts of Russian rulers in an exhibition in 1849. Fifteen years from then, he had successfully miniaturized his art into cabinet sculptures, shifting his focus to crafting smaller versions of royal busts. This transition proved to be a pivotal moment in his career, as these smaller busts skyrocketed in popularity, cementing his position as a prominent figure in the world of art.
