Immerse yourself in the rich history of Russian rulers with this unique replica of Chopin's bust, immaculately crafted in the factory F. Chopin at St. Petersburg in Russia. Embossed on the back side of this stunning piece is the distinctive "F.CHOPIN" signature coupled with a round stamp reading "M.F. 1868 FOR 10 YEARS". Lending further authenticity and a royal connection to this piece, you will find the iconic inscription "Nicholas I" on the base, signifying the Russian Tsar the bust is dedicated to.

The artistry behind our product is credited to the creator Felix Chopin (1813-1892), widely recognized as the "bronze magician". Being a French and Russian foundry worker and supplier to the Court of His Imperial Majesty, Chopin held a reputation for distinctive and memorable works. His special focus on busts of Russian rulers sets him apart in the sphere of classical sculpture. His journey with bust creation was first inspired in 1840, when he discovered marble busts executed by the Italian sculptor A. Penna.

Despite the fact that Penna's busts of Russian tsars and princes were not historically accurate due to his limited exposure to Russian culture, Chopin found inspiration in his work and went to reinvent a series of busts. His prolific work culminated in an exhibition of 63 life-sized busts of Russian rulers in 1849. Later, he introduced smaller versions of these royal busts at an international exhibition in Paris, providing a more flexible and accessible option for art connoisseurs and history enthusiasts around the world.

Our replica of Chopin's bust stands as a testament to his unparalleled skill and genius. It preserves his innovative approach in transitioning from large sculptures to cabinet-sized works of art, capturing both the likeness and essence of the Russian royalty in an intricate and refined manner. This bust is more than a mere artefact – it stands as a charming piece of the past, infusing your space with a touch of royal Russian history, and serving as a tribute to the exemplary craftsmanship of Felix Chopin.
