Introducing the meticulously crafted Model 1877 equestrian sculpture, an exact replica of one of the most acclaimed works of Russian master Vasily Yakovlevich Grachev (V. Y. Grachev). This substantial piece, measuring 44 cm and weighing 9.5 kg, beautifully depicts one of Grachev's genre scenes, demonstrating his exceptional skill in fine plastics.

V. Y. Grachev (1831-1905), renowned in the art world for his genre scenes featuring people and historical military episodes, trained under the tutelage of court coinage master, Andreev, in St. Petersburg. Proceeding his apprenticeship, Grachev honed his talents while working with esteemed silversmiths, inclusive of I.S.Sazikov. As a self-taught sculptor, he conceptualized wax models for prominent manufacturers such as K.F.Werfel, P.A Ovchinnikov, and I.P. Khlebnikov. Many of his cherished works were brought to life in silver and bronze under these distinguished brands. Grachev's contributions to art and industry were frequently awarded at exhibitions.

This large sculpture houses invaluable marks of authenticity on the back side, including a facsimile of Grachev's signature (LEP.GRACHEV), as well as the caster’s stamp (FABR. C.F. WOERFFEL) engraved in reserve along the front edge of the reservoir. These distinctive features pay homage to the artists behind this illustrious piece and infuse it with historical resonance. It is more than a decorative item; it's a testament to Russian art history and a tribute to V. Y. Grachev's remarkable craftsmanship.
