Step into the world of French Sculptor, Pierre Collinet, a figure that marked the first half of the 20th century with his iconic sculpting abilities. Although little is known about the extent of his years, Collinet's golden age of creation was undoubtedly between the years 1920-1930. His subjects of choice often leaned towards the portrayal of emancipated, stylish women or some of the renowned variety dancers of his time, capturing their essence in an array of engaging sculptures. His manner of sculpting, imbued with distinct theatricality, offers a unique perspective on the era's feminine ideals.

As an apprentice to Dmitry Chiparus, a master in the field of 'art deco', Collinet's talents were nurtured and refined. So profound was their creative bond that Chiparus endowed Collinet with the task of continuing his trend-setting series of statuettes 'on chairs'. These statuettes captured the breathtaking beauty and spirit of women of their time in mesmerizing detail.

We are proud to present in our collection, two of Collinet's 'On a Turkish chair' statuettes. However, this particular piece promises a slight edge in size and exquisite detailing, providing its viewers with a superior visual experience. This figurine does not only serve as an exquisite display but also as an ode to Collinet's unmatched sculpting prowess.
