The statuette is rather big (for a wreath). The precision of the details is impeccable. The presented work is a characteristic example of Viennese decorative bronze of the early XX century. The statuette is marked with the brand of the famous Viennese bronze foundry, founded by a native of the Czech Republic, Franz Bergman. The objects of artistic bronze executed here were often marked with the signature "Nam Greb", which is an anagram of the surname Bergmann.Subjects for small sculptural plastics and miniature multi-figure compositions were taken directly from life. For example, the construction of the Suez Canal in Egypt, which ended in 1869, made oriental themes fashionable. The Western world discovered the East, and exotic characters quickly gained popularity among a wide range of people.
