We present one of the most famous compositions of the sculptor "Lion Hunt" created in 1836.. To date, the sculpture is kept in the Louvre. In this sculptural group, features especially characteristic of Bari's romanticism were manifested: the dramatic attitude of the world, the dominant role of emotions and passions.
Barye Antoine-Louis (1795-1875) was a French animal sculptor and painter. Even at a young age, Bari, having made friends with the caretaker of the Botanical Garden, has been working from nature near cages with wild animals since five o'clock in the morning. At the very beginning of his career, Bari worked in a jeweler's workshop. His experience as a jeweler helped him achieve subtlety and precision in sculpture, but his special talent manifested itself in the ability to capture the characteristic features of animals and convey them by means of plastics. Bari depicted animals both in individual sketches and in sculptural groups, sometimes with people as in the composition "Lion Hunting". Bari's works are in many museums in Europe and the USA.
