Myung started with small sculptures of a realistic nature, representing images of animals. This work is one of the most famous works of the sculptor and belongs to the mature period of the author's work, when he depicted complex, detailed compositions on the theme of hunting. Myung was distinguished by a reverent attitude to his native nature and was convinced that simple peasant life and unpretentious rural nature have aesthetic value. The sculptor was extremely popular in France and in England, repeatedly winning medals at the London and Paris Salons, from 1838 to 1861. Today, examples of Mene's work are found all over the world, including the Ashmolean Museum, the Louvre, the Metropolitan, and the R.W. Norton Art Gallery. According to his models and samples, many workshops worked not only in France, but also in Germany.
