We present a composition dedicated to the performances of the Russian ballet group, organized by the talented entrepreneur Sergei Diaghilev abroad (since 1908 in Paris, since 1912 in London, since 1915 in other countries). The sculpture is quite large and heavy (46cm in height; 10.4kg). A worthy piece of furniture, a great gift. Demetre H. Chiparus was born in Romania, and went to Italy in 1909. He studied with the sculptor Raffaello Romanelli. Later he emigrated to Paris, where he attended classes at the Paris Academy of Fine Arts, and later lived and worked. His sculptures have a bright, stylish decorative effect. Dancers of the Russian ballet, French theater, and early films were among its main characters.
