We present a fairly large (38cm; 6.4 kg) work made according to the model of a French sculptor. In addition to the bright decorative effect, the sculpture has practical significance - you can put something in the shell.Henri Fougere (1872-1944) was a hereditary French sculptor, the son of Leon Fougere. He was one of the first, prominent representatives of the sculptors of the Art Deco era. He studied sculpture at the School of Fine Arts in Paris with Jules Cavalier, Louis-Ernest Barrias and Denis Puech. As a rule, he was engaged in genre busts and sculptures. From 1893 he regularly exhibited in Paris Salons until 1927. After the First World War, the period from 1914 to 1918 was especially bright in his creative activity. The sculpture "Salome and the Shell" was presented in 1918 and was awarded a certificate of commendation.
