Like many masters of Art Deco plastics, the author addresses the theme of childhood, depicting a pretty, cheeky girl who climbed onto such a "huge" chair. The statuette is small, but how much touching warmth and positivity there is in it. However, can the image of children cause other feelings. Nick (Niccolò Peroli) (1912 – 1990) is one of the most famous Italian sculptors of the XX century. He was born in the family of a shoemaker. In adolescence, he studied various crafts, simultaneously indulging in drawing and painting. Attended the Evening School of Applied Arts in Bergamo and the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona. Being an opponent of the fascist dictatorship that reigned in Italy, Niccolo participated in underground activities, and in 1939 joined the association of anti-fascist artists "Corrente". In 1940, miraculously avoiding arrest, Niccolo immigrated to Amsterdam, where he later stayed to live and work, taking the pseudonym Nick.
